CDSL invites applications from accomplished technology leaders for the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The CTO will provide strategic leadership for CDSL’s technology vision, enterprise architecture, engineering excellence, and execution across CDSL platforms, while ensuring resilience, secure-by-design delivery, responsible AI adoption, regulatory compliance, and alignment with the organisation’s public interest responsibilities.
- Lead CDSL’s long-term technology strategy, enterprise architecture, target-state roadmap, and modernisation of core depository systems in alignment with business priorities and regulatory expectations.
- Drive technology operating model transformation, including agile delivery, DevSecOps adoption, engineering productivity improvement, and platform-based ways of working.
- Oversee mission-critical platforms and infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, performance, resilience, and uninterrupted depository operations, supported by strong BCP and DR capabilities.
- Enable structured adoption of emerging technologies, including AI, Agentic and GenAI use cases, automation, analytics, digital ledger technologies, and other innovation initiatives under appropriate governance.
- Ensure secure-by-design technology delivery, cyber resilience, and proactive technology risk management in close alignment with the information security/CISO function, including timely closure of audit and regulatory observations.
- Govern technology investments, programme delivery, vendor and outsourcing arrangements, and value realisation across the IT portfolio.
- Strengthen data platforms, reporting, and data governance to support trusted operations, analytics, regulatory reporting, and responsible AI adoption.
- Support the Governing Board, MD, ED, and relevant committees with strategic technology insights, resilience updates, and periodic reporting, while building and mentoring high-performing technology teams.
Educational Qualification
Master’s degree in engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related disciplines from a reputed institution. Professional qualifications or certifications in areas such as cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, IT governance, digital transformation, cloud, or risk management will be preferred.
Minimum 20 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles in capital markets, clearing and settlement, depository operations, or other large, regulated enterprises. Candidates should demonstrate experience in enterprise architecture, technology transformation, large-scale delivery, multi-vendor environments, and governance of mission-critical platforms. Strong understanding of SEBI regulations, enterprise IT systems, operational resilience, and audit/regulator-facing responsibilities. Exposure to AI, data-driven platforms, automation, and responsible technology governance in regulated or enterprise-scale environments will be an advantage.
