Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly professional Household Manager for a prestigious private family residence in Mumbai. The successful candidate will oversee the complete operations of a large luxury residence while managing an established team of long-serving staff.
The ideal candidate will bring international exposure, preferably from Europe, the UK, or the Middle East, with a proven track record of managing large private households, estates, or luxury hospitality environments. The ability to adapt seamlessly within the Indian operating environment will be essential.
This is a hands-on leadership role, where the Household Manager is expected to maintain the highest service standards while also stepping in personally when required. The role requires discretion, professionalism, and a strong commitment to service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of a large private residence (approx. 35,000 sq. ft.)
Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of 25+ household staff across service, housekeeping, culinary, security, logistics, and maintenance
Implement and monitor SOPs, rosters, and service standards aligned with international private household and luxury hospitality benchmarks
Ensure the residence is fully prepared ahead of principal and guest arrivals, maintaining impeccable attention to detail
Coordinate and manage vendors, contractors, and suppliers within the local operating environment
Train and mentor household staff, enhancing service delivery and hospitality standards
Manage household budgets, procurement, inventories, and accounts in coordination with the family office or representatives
Oversee formal service, guest hospitality, and special events with the highest level of discretion and professionalism
Maintain a hands-on and proactive approach, stepping in whenever required to ensure seamless operations
Candidate Requirements
Strong understanding of staff management, SOP implementation, vendor coordination, and hospitality standards
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Fluent English & Marathi required
High level of professional discretion, integrity, and service orientation
