Job Summary
The Store Assistant is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations of the pharmacy store, ensuring accurate inventory management, timely receipt of goods, proper storage, stock monitoring, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Goods Receiving & GRN Management
- Receive medicines, medical consumables, and other inventory from suppliers.
- Verify delivered items against purchase orders and supplier invoices.
- Inspect quantities, batch numbers, expiry dates, and product condition before acceptance.
- Perform accurate Goods Receipt Note (GRN) entry in the inventory/ERP system.
- Report discrepancies, shortages, damages, or incorrect deliveries to the Store In-Charge.
- Maintain all GRN documentation and supplier records.
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate stock records in the inventory management system.
- Organize products according to company storage standards.
- Ensure First Expiry First Out (FEFO) and First In First Out (FIFO) practices are followed.
- Monitor stock movement and update inventory records regularly.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock verification.
- Assist in periodic stock audits and physical inventory counts.
- Report stock variances and investigate discrepancies.
Store Operations
- Ensure proper storage conditions for medicines and medical supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the pharmacy store.
- Label shelves and storage locations appropriately.
- Ensure products are stored according to manufacturer recommendations.
- Monitor temperature-sensitive storage areas and maintain required records.
- Arrange stock systematically for easy identification and retrieval.
Stock Issuance
- Issue medicines and medical supplies to internal departments based on approved requisitions.
- Verify requested quantities before issuing stock.
- Record all stock movements accurately in the inventory system.
- Maintain proper documentation for stock transfers and issues.
Inventory Control
- Monitor minimum, maximum, and reorder stock levels.
- Inform the Store In-Charge about low stock, near-expiry items, and slow-moving inventory.
- Assist in stock rotation to minimize expiry-related losses.
- Segregate expired or damaged products according to company procedures.
Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of:
- Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs)
- Stock issue vouchers
- Stock transfer records
- Return records
- Inventory adjustment records
- Supplier delivery documents
- Ensure all records are complete, accurate, and filed appropriately.
Coordination
- Coordinate with the Procurement/Purchasing team regarding deliveries.
- Work closely with suppliers during receipt of goods.
- Coordinate with internal departments for stock requirements.
- Support inventory reconciliation activities.
Compliance
- Follow company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure compliance with inventory handling and storage guidelines.
- Follow safety and housekeeping standards within the store.
- Maintain confidentiality of inventory and procurement information.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmacy Assistant or Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) from a recognized institution.
- Knowledge of medicine storage, inventory management, FIFO/FEFO principles, and pharmacy store operations.
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a pharmacy store, hospital store, medical warehouse, or healthcare inventory management.
- Experience in goods receiving, Goods Receipt Note (GRN) processing, inventory control, stock issuance, and documentation.
- Familiarity with FIFO/FEFO inventory practices, stock verification, and inventory
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
