Job Summary
The OT In-Charge is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Operation Theatre, ensuring efficient surgical workflow, proper management of surgical instruments and equipment, staff supervision, and compliance with hospital policies, infection control protocols, and NABH standards to maintain high-quality patient care and safety.
Qualifications and Experience
- GNM or B.Sc. Nursing.
- Valid Registration Certificate from the U.P. Nurses & Midwives Council.
- Minimum 15-20 years of experience in Operation Theatre Nursing.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or OT In-Charge role preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the Operation Theatre.
- Ensure smooth coordination among surgeons, anesthetists, nursing staff, and support departments.
- Oversee the handling, sterilization, maintenance, and availability of surgical instruments and OT equipment.
- Ensure proper instrument counts before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Maintain OT discipline, workflow, and staff scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control protocols, and NABH standards.
- Maintain OT records, documentation, and quality compliance requirements.
- Guide, train, and support OT staff to ensure efficient patient care and safety.
