We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic English teacher to deliver high-quality language and literature instruction to students of classes 6, 7 and 8. The ideal candidate will plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess and monitor student performance, support students’ overall development, and contribute to a positive learning environment aligned with the school’s academic standards.
Educational Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English (B.A. English / English Honours) or a related subject from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification is preferred (or as per school norms).
- Strong command of spoken and written English — grammar, vocabulary, literature, comprehension, writing and communication.
- Prior teaching experience (especially with middle school classes 6–8) is preferred but not mandatory — freshers with strong credentials may also apply.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver structured English lessons (language + literature) for classes 6, 7 and 8, following the school’s syllabus and academic guidelines.
- Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, speaking and listening; cover prose, poetry, composition and literature (as per curriculum).
- Design and use a variety of teaching methods — lectures, group work, multimedia aids, interactive sessions — to meet diverse learner needs and encourage active learning.
- Assign and correct homework, assignments and projects; design and grade tests, quizzes and examinations; evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate academic records — attendance, assignments, grades, progress reports — and prepare periodic reports for parents/guardians.
- Provide remedial or extra classes/tutorials for students needing additional support; help address different learning abilities to ensure inclusive education.
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, disciplined and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation, critical thinking, creativity, and confidence.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student’s academic progress, strengths and areas for improvement (parent-teacher meetings, progress reports, feedback).
