About the Role
The Head – Supply Chain will lead end-to-end supply chain operations with a strong focus on driving visibility, control, and accountability across dispatches, order management, and collections from super stockists.
This role goes beyond traditional supply chain responsibilities and acts as a strategic bridge between Sales, Distribution, Finance, and Plant Operations, ensuring that material movement, order execution, and cash inflow are tightly aligned for efficient business performance.
The incumbent will be responsible for building a robust Order-to-Cash (O2C) ecosystem, ensuring dispatches translate into timely revenue realization while maintaining operational efficiency across plants and distribution networks.
Key Responsibilities1. Order-to-Cash Ownership (Core Focus Area)
- Establish complete visibility across the order lifecycle:
- Order Booking
- Dispatch
- Billing
- Payment Realization
- Monitor order execution, dispatches, and fund inflow from super stockists.
- Ensure timely conversion of orders into dispatches and dispatches into collections.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks related to:
- Order fulfilment
- Billing delays
- Outstanding receivables
- Payment follow-ups
- Collaborate with Sales and Finance teams to improve collection cycles and reduce working capital blockage.
- Drive accountability for revenue realization and cash-flow alignment.
2. Dispatch & Distribution Governance
- Lead dispatch planning and execution aligned with business priorities.
- Ensure dispatch accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with customer commitments.
- Build systems and controls to track:
- Order vs Dispatch
- Dispatch vs Billing
- Billing vs Payment realization
- Strengthen coordination between Warehouse, Logistics, Sales, and Plant teams.
- Monitor super stockist servicing efficiency and dispatch adherence.
3. Super Stockist Commercial Control
- Develop structured mechanisms to monitor:
- Primary sales (dispatches)
- Secondary sales visibility (where applicable)
- Outstanding receivables
- Credit cycles and payment ageing
- Ensure discipline in:
- Credit limits
- Payment terms
- Collection processes
- Identify risks related to:
- Overstocking
- Slow-moving inventory
- Delayed collections
- Credit exposure
4. Supply Chain Operations Leadership
- Lead Procurement, Stores, Logistics, Warehouse, and Finished Goods operations.
- Ensure synchronization between:
- Production Planning
- Inventory Management
- Dispatch Schedules
- Demand Fulfilment
- Drive end-to-end material flow visibility across manufacturing plants and warehouses.
- Improve operational efficiency and process standardization across supply chain functions.
5. Inventory & Working Capital Management
- Optimize inventory levels for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Improve inventory turnover and reduce excess or non-moving inventory.
- Drive stronger working capital management through faster dispatch-to-cash cycles.
- Ensure adequate stock availability while minimizing carrying costs.
6. Systems & Reporting
- Strengthen ERP utilization using SAP ERP for real-time visibility and operational control.
- Develop dashboards and MIS reports covering:
- Dispatch vs Order Fulfilment
- Stockist Outstanding & Ageing
- Inventory Levels
- Collection Efficiency
- Cash Flow Tracking
- Working Capital Metrics
- Enable data-driven decision-making across departments.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a strategic interface between Sales, Finance, Commercial, and Plant teams.
- Align demand planning, dispatch priorities, and payment follow-ups.
- Drive structured reviews with stakeholders to ensure execution discipline.
- Support business growth through responsive and agile supply chain operations.
8. Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor teams across supply chain and commercial operations.
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Establish KPIs and performance review mechanisms for dispatch efficiency, inventory management, and collections.
- Develop talent and strengthen team capabilities across functions.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in Supply Chain Management and Order-to-Cash processes.
- Deep understanding of dispatch planning, logistics, inventory, and commercial operations.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP ERP and ERP-driven supply chain systems.
- Experience managing super stockist/distribution networks.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Ability to drive operational discipline and working capital improvements.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
Educational Qualification
- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Finance preferred.
Experience
- 12–18 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Commercial Operations, Logistics, or Distribution Management from FMCG Industry is a must
Pay: ₹2,500,000.00 - ₹3,200,000.00 per year
