About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer with strong expertise in PHP and Laravel who can also lead and mentor a backend development team. The ideal candidate should be capable of architecting scalable applications, driving technical decisions, managing development workflows, ensuring code quality, and collaborating with product and business stakeholders.
This role requires both hands-on coding and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of backend developers.
- Define backend architecture, coding standards, and development best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers.
- Participate in technical planning, estimations, and sprint management.
- Drive continuous improvement in development processes and team productivity.
Backend Development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using PHP and Laravel.
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and external systems.
- Design efficient database structures and optimize queries.
- Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system stability.
Architecture & Performance
- Design scalable and maintainable system architectures.
- Improve application performance, reliability, and security.
- Implement caching, queues, background jobs, and monitoring solutions.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams for deployment and infrastructure optimization.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Managers, Frontend Developers, QA, and DevOps teams.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in stakeholder discussions and technical decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- 4+ years of experience in PHP development.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Laravel Framework.
- Strong understanding of:
