Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer – Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) to lead the execution and delivery of global Industrial Water and Wastewater projects. In this role, you will provide technical leadership, manage project teams, and drive engineering excellence across Instrumentation, Control Systems, Automation, and Functional Safety aspects.
You will work closely with project managers, engineering managers, discipline & sub-discipline leaders, global engineering teams, and resource managers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions while contributing to team development, talent growth, and organizational objectives. The position combines project execution responsibilities with people leadership and strategic resource planning.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Instrumentation and Control engineering activities for industrial water and wastewater projects.
Provide expertise in Instrumentation systems, Process analyzers, PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI systems, Industrial communication networks, Functional Safety, ESD systems, and interlocks.
Apply advanced engineering principles and innovative approaches to solve challenging technical problems.
Develop, review, and approve complex I&C engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure engineering deliverables meet quality, challenging schedule, budget, and client requirements.
Conduct technical evaluations and submittal reviews of vendor proposals, drawings, and documentation.
Collaborate effectively with clients, project teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Promote compliance with company quality standards, engineering procedures, and industry best practices.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, knowledge-sharing programs, risk management, and lessons-learned implementation.
Staff supervisory responsibilities as assigned.
Build and develop high-performing engineering teams in collaboration with global and regional leaders.
Career development along with talent development and training.
Support the India/APAC IC&C chief engineer with resources to drive efficient processes and tools.
Support Global growth strategy, hiring and staff forecasting including supplemental workforce planning.
Develop subject matter experts (SME’s) and staff to support/lead project & proposal efforts.
80% of your time will be allocated for project execution and proposal responsibilities. With the expectation that the remaining time will be utilized to develop Industrial Water team and tools.
Provide Leadership to the team, nurture trust and develop talent.
Assist in hiring, workforce planning, performance management, and succession planning.
Foster a collaborative, agile, and inclusive work environment.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineering or Electronics, or Electrical with instrumentation specialization or equivalent.
15+ years of relevant experience in areas such as engineering design, project execution and leading teams
Experience in running large project teams, supervisor experience, technical expertise & problem-solving skills.
Looking for professional who can help mentor and coach others, not just execute the projects.
Looking for dynamic/adaptable/flexible professionals that understand alternative delivery models.
Experience with development execution process, standards & codes (ISA, IEC, NFPA), training etc is a plus. Understanding of codes, API, and water industry standards.
Preferred Client/Industry Experience (With Industrial Water Aligned Scope, i.e. Industrial Water Projects for these industries) in one or more industries below;
Data Centers
Semiconductor
Mining
Food and Beverage
Pharmaceuticals
Life Sciences
Preferred Delivery Method Experience (Alternative Delivery and Variety of Delivery Experience is a plus)

Familiarity with Industrial Water Clients, solutions, markets, and strategies.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 15 years relevant work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
