Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs for VMC machines, specifically for graphite machining applications.
- Utilize Mastercam software to generate accurate toolpaths, verify simulations, and ensure efficient material usage.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models to produce high-quality machined components.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, fixtures and machining strategies for graphite and related materials.
- Work closely with machinists and production staff to troubleshoot issues and improve process efficiency. Conduct trial runs and validate CNC programs on shop floor Maintain documentation of programs, tooling setups, and production notes.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve part quality, and optimize machine utilization while ensuring dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Assist in training machine operators on new programs and machining techniques.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred. Minimum 4–6 years of experience programming VMCs, preferably in the graphite or similar high-precision industry.
- Strong proficiency in Mastercam (or equivalent CAM software); experience with CAD software is a plus. Solid understanding of machining principles, cutting tool selection, and material behavior (graphite preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
