The IT Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of systems, networks, and user support. This role plays a key part in enabling business continuity through reliable technology support and security.
Key Responsibilities
- IT Infrastructure Management
- Maintain and monitor company systems, servers, and networks
- Ensure high availability and performance of IT systems
- User Support (Helpdesk)
- Provide technical support to employees for hardware, software, and network issues
- Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Network Administration
- Manage LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi networks, routers, and switches
- Handle IP configuration, firewall settings, and network security
- System Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows/Linux)
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control
- Software & Hardware Management
- Install and update applications, antivirus, and security tools
- Maintain IT asset inventory and procurement support
- Data Security & Backup
- Ensure regular data backups and recovery processes
- Implement cybersecurity best practices
- Vendor Coordination
- Work with external IT vendors for AMC, hardware repairs, and services
Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of:
- Windows OS / basic Linux
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Hardware troubleshooting
- Familiarity with:
- Firewalls, VPN, and antivirus tools
- Office 365 / Google Workspace
- Basic understanding of:
- Servers (Active Directory, file servers)
- Backup and recovery systems
Qualifications
- B.Tech / BE / BSc in IT / Computer Science / Electronics
- 1–4 years of relevant experience (freshers with strong skills can also be considered)
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS / Azure)
- Experience in ERP systems or enterprise IT environments
- Certifications like CCNA / MCSA (added advantage)
