Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer / Database & ETL Support Specialist with `10+ years of experience in managing databases, building scalable ETL pipelines, and supporting data platforms across cloud environments. The role requires strong expertise in MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift, and Python, along with hands-on experience in production support and performance tuning.
Key Responsibilities
Database Management & Support:
Administer and support MySQL and PostgreSQL databases in production environments
Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching
Monitor database health, availability, and performance
Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
Troubleshoot database issues and ensure high availability
Data Warehousing (Amazon Redshift):
Manage and optimize Amazon Redshift clusters
Design and maintain data warehouse schemas (Star/Snowflake)
Perform query tuning and workload management (WLM optimization)
Handle data distribution styles, sort keys, and vacuum operations
Python Development:
Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python
Build data processing pipelines and integrations
Optimize data transformation logic for performance and scalability
ETL / Data Pipeline Support:
Design, develop, and support ETL pipelines
Work with ETL tools ( Talend)
Ensure data quality, validation, and reconciliation
Handle batch and real-time data processing workflows
Production Support & Incident Management:
Provide L2/L3 support for data platforms and pipelines
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures
Monitor jobs, troubleshoot failures, and ensure SLA adherence
Participate in on-call rotation
