About Us
The Tandoor & Co. is a new 30-seat restaurant opening soon in Mau, Uttar Pradesh, serving North Indian tandoor starters, Chinese fast food, and continental fare, along with mocktails and shakes. We're building a fresh, energetic kitchen team and looking for skilled commis chefs to grow with us from day one.
Role Overview
We are hiring First Commis chefs for two sections:
- North Indian & Tandoor
- Chinese
As First Commis, you will work under the section chef to prepare dishes, maintain quality and consistency, and keep your station clean, stocked, and running smoothly during service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook dishes for your assigned section (Tandoor / North Indian or Chinese) as per standard recipes and portion sizes
- Operate the tandoor and/or Chinese range with proper technique and timing
- Maintain food quality, taste, and presentation standards
- Keep the workstation, equipment, and storage areas clean and hygienic
- Manage mise en place and ensure ingredients are stocked before service
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Support the senior kitchen staff during busy service periods
- Minimize wastage and help with inventory checks
Requirements
- Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts / Hotel Management (freshers welcome) OR equivalent hands-on kitchen experience
- Knowledge of the relevant cuisine (North Indian/Tandoor or Chinese)
- Understanding of basic food safety and kitchen hygiene
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on weekends/holidays
- Team player with a willingness to learn
- Physically fit to handle kitchen shifts
