Description:
The Mechanical / Thermal Engineer will execute and support New Product Development (NPD), cost reduction, and sustaining initiatives, with a strong focus on speed, quality, and effective coordination.
The role requires strong mechanical and thermal fundamentals to support product design, validation, and electro-mechanical integration. The individual will work closely with cross-functional and global teams to ensure timely execution of engineering deliverables.
Requirement:
M . Tech (Design / Thermal)
- 8 - 10 years of experience in Product Design and Development preferably in the field of Refrigeration/Air Conditioning.
- Hands-on experience in executing engineering projects with focus on product optimization, continuous improvement, and technical support
- Experience in applying the technical understanding and design principles to the product design and should be able to correlate with actual product testing
- Hands-on experience with design calculations and Validation
- Experience in project execution, problem solving and sound technical decision-making
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, along with statistical data analysis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ; Well conversant with presentation through MS tools and experience of presentation
- Positive attitude and strong team player, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions
- Creative mindset with a strong affinity for learning and driving innovation
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum guidance.

Key Responsibilities
Project Execution
- An Individual Contributor (IC) responsible for execution of assigned project tasks and deliverables
- Drive project planning, scheduling, and tracking of milestones, to meet business objectives
- Ensure timely execution with focus on speed and quality.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation and reports
Design & Engineering
- Develop and evaluate engineering proposals and engineering concepts
- Perform design calculations (thermal, machine design, fluid mechanics) independently.
- Perform design validation for functionality, manufacturability, and performance
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with various engineering teams - Design, Procurement, Engineering Laboratories, Plants, Quality, to execute projects in the areas of product development, cost reduction.
Testing, Validation & Problem Solving
- Prototype builds, Analyze test data and resolve test issues independently
- Perform validation and ensure compliance with UL standards and design intent
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions
Project Management
- Drive project planning, scheduling, and execution with full accountability
- Identify risks proactively and implement mitigation actions derived from mitigation strategies
- Ensure delivery aligned to timeline, cost, with expected key performance indicators
- Ensure closure of projects with proper documentation, including preparation of closure reports capturing key learnings, performance outcomes, and improvement opportunities
- Follow configuration management practices to ensure proper documentation and traceability throughout the project lifecycle
- Execution with focus on speed, Quality, and first time right approach.
Process Improvement & Innovation
- Contribute to process improvements and cost optimization initiatives
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning
Engineering Tools & Methods
- Apply DFMEA, DOE, VAVE methodologies
- Leverage tools such as GT Suite, Mathcad, and other analytical platforms to drive continual improvement
Ensure effective use of engineering calculations, simulations, and digital tools.
