Job Summary
We are looking for a result-driven Area Sales Executive to manage and grow our retail and distribution network across the Vellore, North Arcot, and South Arcot belt. The candidate will be responsible for primary and secondary sales, distributor management, route coverage, team coordination, and achieving monthly sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets in the assigned territory (Vellore, Ranipet, Arakkonam, Arcot, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Cuddalore, and surrounding areas).
- Manage and develop relationships with distributors, super-stockists, wholesalers, retailers, and kirana stores.
- Plan and execute daily beat / route coverage as per the PJP (Permanent Journey Plan).
- Drive primary and secondary sales, ensure proper stock placement, and maintain product visibility at retail outlets.
- Appoint new distributors, onboard new retailers, and expand market reach in untapped areas.
- Coordinate with Sales Officers / Sales Representatives in the area and guide them to achieve their targets.
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and schemes; report market intelligence to the management.
- Ensure timely order booking, dispatch follow-up, and payment collection from distributors/retailers.
- Execute promotional schemes, merchandising, and brand activation at the outlet level.
- Maintain daily sales reports (DSR), call reports, and update the reporting manager regularly.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of field sales experience as an ASE / Sales Officer in FMCG, food products, dairy, bakery, snacks, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of the Vellore, Ranipet, Arakkonam, Arcot, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, and Cuddalore belt is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing distributor networks.
- Must own a two-wheeler with a valid driving licence.
- Willingness to travel across the assigned districts as per beat plan.
- Good communication skills in Tamil (English/Hindi an added advantage).
- Ability to handle distributors, retailers, and lead a small field sales team.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel, WhatsApp reporting, and smartphone-based sales apps.
- Qualification: Any Graduate / Diploma (12th pass with strong field experience also considered).
