Job Summary
The Project Manager – MEP Projects is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and successfully delivering Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects within the approved scope, budget, quality standards, and schedule. The role requires leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution
- Plan, organize, and manage MEP projects from initiation through completion.
- Develop project schedules, resource plans, and execution strategies.
- Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are achieved.
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and ELV system installations.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and consultants.
- Conduct regular project review meetings.
- Prepare and present project progress reports.
- Resolve technical and commercial issues with stakeholders.
Team Leadership
- Lead project engineers, site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Allocate resources effectively to maximize productivity.
- Monitor team performance and provide technical guidance.
- Foster collaboration across engineering disciplines.
Cost & Budget Control
- Prepare project budgets and monitor expenditures.
- Control project costs and optimize resource utilization.
- Review contractor invoices and project billing.
- Support procurement and contract administration activities.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all work complies with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections and monitor quality control processes.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and project handover.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies and procedures.
- Promote a safe working environment across project sites.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and statutory regulations.
Documentation
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Maintain project documentation, reports, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Prepare project completion reports and handover documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma (EEE) / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
- Additional certifications in MEP, HVAC, or construction management are advantageous.
Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in MEP construction or engineering projects.
- At least 5 years in a Project Manager role.
- Experience delivering commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare, hospitality, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in project planning, execution, testing, commissioning, and handover.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems and construction practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM/Revit.
- Understanding of project budgeting and cost control.
- Familiarity with local building codes and industry standards.
