Job Summary
The Pharmacy Staff is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, maintaining drug inventory, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and NABH standards, providing patient counseling, and supporting safe medication management.
Key ResponsibilitiesMedication Dispensing
- Dispense medicines accurately as per the doctor's prescription.
- Verify patient details, dosage, route, and frequency before dispensing.
- Label medications correctly and provide usage instructions.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Inventory Management
- Monitor medicine stock levels.
- Check expiry dates regularly and remove expired or damaged medicines.
- Receive, verify, and store medicines according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Prepare purchase indents for stock replenishment.
Documentation
- Maintain pharmacy registers and dispensing records.
- Record narcotic and controlled drugs as per legal requirements.
- Update pharmacy software with accurate transaction details.
- Maintain billing records and reports.
Patient Care
- Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, storage, and possible side effects.
- Inform the pharmacist or physician about potential drug interactions or allergies.
- Promote medication safety and adherence.
NABH & Quality Compliance
- Follow NABH standards and hospital pharmacy policies.
- Participate in internal audits and quality improvement activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and infection control practices in the pharmacy.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for medicines (temperature, humidity, FEFO/FIFO).
Coordination
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, stores, and other departments.
- Handle emergency medication requests promptly.
- Support discharge medication preparation.
Qualifications
- D.Pharm / B.Pharm / Pharm.D
- Registered Pharmacist with the State Pharmacy Council.
Experience
- 0–2 years (Freshers may be considered).
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of medications and pharmacology.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer proficiency and pharmacy software knowledge.
- Inventory management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in shifts.
Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to work under pressure in emergency situations.

Pay: ₹11,000.76 - ₹14,000.00 per month
