The CNC & VMC Machine Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving CNC and VMC machines to ensure maximum machine availability, reliability, and productivity. The role involves preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, root cause analysis, and coordination with production teams to minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of CNC and VMC machines.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues.
- Maintain machine accuracy, alignment, and performance as per standards.
- Monitor machine health and identify potential failures before breakdowns occur.
- Attend emergency machine breakdowns and ensure quick restoration of operations.
- Coordinate with production teams to minimize machine downtime.
- Maintain CNC controllers, servo motors, spindle systems, drives, and sensors.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring machine failures.
- Maintain maintenance records, checklists, and machine history logs.
- Ensure proper lubrication and upkeep of machine components.
- Coordinate with external service providers and machine manufacturers when required.
- Implement TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintenance procedures.
- Manage spare parts inventory and recommend critical spare stocking.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline.
- 2–8 years of experience in CNC/VMC machine maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of CNC and VMC machine maintenance.
- Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controllers.
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and electrical circuits.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
