We are seeking an experienced API Engineer with 6+ years of hands-on expertise to design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade API solutions. In this role, you will lead the implementation of serverless backend services, secure API gateways, and robust integration patterns to power high-scale applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy scalable, low-latency REST APIs following industry best practices for security and performance.
- Develop serverless backend services and microservices using Azure Functions.
- Configure, manage, and secure API gateways, policies, developer portals, and rate-limiting using Azure API Management (APIM).
- Establish API contracts, OpenAPI/Swagger specifications, and clear documentation for seamless integration across teams.
- Implement robust authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, API Keys, Managed Identities).
- Monitor API health, track telemetry, and optimize throughput and latency across distributed services.
Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering with a strong focus on backend and API development.
- REST APIs: Deep expertise in RESTful architecture principles, API design patterns, versioning, and error handling.
- Azure Functions: Extensive experience writing, testing, and deploying event-driven serverless applications on Azure Functions.
- Azure APIM: Hands-on experience configuring policies (OAuth, rate-limiting, CORS, caching, transformations) and routing inside Azure API Management.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in C# (.NET Core/8+) or TypeScript/Node.js for backend development.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD automated deployment pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform, or ARM templates).
- Familiarity with messaging platforms (Azure Event Hubs, Service Bus) and relational/NoSQL databases.
Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
