About the Role
Caliac Studios & YWR is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Director of Photography (DOP) / Assistant Cinematographer to join our on-site production team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our creative directors, editors, and marketing strategists to capture high-quality visual content for agency clients, commercial campaigns, social media, and brand stories. Knowing editing is a Bonus.
Key Responsibilities
- On-Set Cinematography: Operate cameras, lenses, stabilization equipment, and audio gear during studio and location shoots.
- Gimbal Operation: Expertly manage and balance camera gimbals to execute smooth, dynamic camera movements.
- Lighting Setup: Design and execute effective lighting setups tailored to diverse visual styles (e.g., brand promos, interviews, product highlights, creative reels).
- Pre-Production Collaboration: Work with storyboards, shot lists, and mood boards provided by the creative team to plan visual aesthetics.
- Media & Gear Management: Oversee gear prep, battery charging, lens care, and media offloading.
Mandatory Requirements & Skills
- Gimbal Expertise: Hands-on proficiency in operating and balancing gimbals is strictly required.
- Prior Experience: Must have past project experience (at least a few completed projects or a basic portfolio demonstrating camera work).
- Pressure Handling: Ability to maintain composure, speed, and accuracy under high-pressure set environments and tight marketing deadlines.
- Growth Mindset: Strong willingness to learn new filming techniques, creative concepts, and workflows.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of DSLRs, mirrorless systems, digital cinema cameras, standard studio lighting, and audio gear.
Equipment & Accountability Policy
- Company Gear: All camera gear, lenses, lighting, and production equipment are provided by Caliac Studios.
- Care & Responsibility: Candidates are expected to handle all studio equipment with extreme care and diligence.
- Liability Notice: Any loss, physical damage, broken lenses, or damaged gear caused by negligence or improper handling will be financially charged/deducted from the employee's salary.
