Pharmacist – Key Responsibilities
- Verify the identity, strength, quality, and purity of medications to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
- Review and validate prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and completeness, ensuring the correct selection of medications and ingredients.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, potential side effects, drug interactions, contraindications, and proper storage practices.
- Monitor prescribing patterns and patient medication history to promote adherence, identify potential drug-related issues, and prevent harmful interactions or misuse.
- Procure pharmaceutical products, medical supplies, and consumables while maintaining optimal inventory levels and ensuring proper storage and handling.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records, including patient profiles, inventory logs, controlled substance registers, poison records, narcotics documentation, and other statutory records.
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate over-the-counter medications, healthcare products, medical devices, and wellness supplies.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy, review treatment plans, and provide clinical recommendations on drug usage and efficacy.
- Compound, prepare, and dispense medications in accordance with physician prescriptions and established pharmacy guidelines.
- Support health promotion and disease prevention initiatives by educating patients on the proper use of healthcare devices such as blood pressure monitors, glucometers, and other medical equipment.
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the preparation, packaging, labeling, storage, and disposal of pharmaceutical products in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm/M.Pharm) or Pharm.D from a recognized institution.
- 0–2 years of experience in a retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy setting.
- Registered with the Karnataka Pharmacy Council (KPC) and willing to submit the original registration certificate.
- Strong verbal communication skills in English and Kannada/Hindi; proficiency in additional local languages will be an advantage.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and responsibly.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to accurately interpret written prescriptions and follow instructions from doctors and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, supervisors, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and maintain compliance with pharmacy standards and protocols.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
