Role: AWS Cloud Platform Engineer (Mid-Senior)

AWS Cloud Platform Engineers whose mandate is to assess, stabilize, and modernize live cloud environments. This is not a greenfield build role. Engineers in this team will work inside existing AWS accounts, conduct structured platform discovery, execute stability improvements, and drive codebase modernization within GitHub Enterprise — all within a clearly defined platform shared responsibility model. Under supervision of Senior Platform Engineer based in US.
Platform Discovery
- Conduct structured discovery across assigned AWS environments — inventory running services, map dependencies, identify configuration drift, and document current-state infrastructure
- Assess AWS account structures, IAM posture, networking topology, and service configurations against well-architected standards
- Produce clear, prioritized discovery findings that feed directly into the engineering work backlog
Platform Stability
- Execute against high-level platform stability tasks: remediate misconfigurations, close reliability gaps, address observability blind spots, and reduce operational risk
- Monitor platform health using AWS-native tooling and respond to platform-level incidents with structured root-cause analysis
- Operate within and actively enforce the defined platform shared responsibility model — maintaining clear boundaries between platform-owned and application-team-owned layers
Codebase Modernization
- Work inside GitHub Enterprise to review, clean up, and modernize existing Python, Go, and Java codebases
- Identify and remediate deprecated dependencies, outdated patterns, unused IaC modules, and hardcoded configuration that introduces operational risk
- Execute scoped, regression-safe pull requests with clear commit messaging; participate in peer code review
- Improve code quality through consistent, disciplined practice — not wholesale rewrites
Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹240,000.00 per month
