Job Purpose
The Purchase Executive will be responsible for end-to-end procurement of architectural glass used in windows, curtain walls, unitized systems, and facade applications. The role focuses on vendor coordination, technical compliance, cost control, delivery tracking, and ensuring uninterrupted supply aligned with project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Glass Procurement & Vendor Management
- Source, negotiate, and procure various types of architectural glass including Toughened glass, Laminated glass, DGU / IGU units, Low-E, reflective, tinted, coated glass, etc.
- Develop and maintain a qualified vendor base including processors, manufacturers, and fabricators.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and warranties to achieve cost efficiency.
Technical & Specification Coordination
- Study and understand glass specifications, drawings, BOQs, and tender requirements.
- Ensure glass procured complies with:
- Approved material submittals
- Project specifications
- Relevant IS / ASTM / EN standards
- Coordinate with Design, QA/QC, and Projects teams for technical clarifications.
Purchase Order & Documentation
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) with accurate specifications, quantities, delivery timelines, and commercial terms.
- Maintain complete procurement documentation including:
- Comparative statements
- PO copies
- Test certificates
- Invoices and delivery challans
Logistics & Delivery Coordination
- Track manufacturing schedules and deliveries to meet project timelines.
- Coordinate with logistics teams for safe transportation of glass to site or factory.
- Handle breakage, shortages, replacements, and claims with suppliers.
Cost Control & Inventory Support
- Monitor glass consumption versus BOQ quantities.
- Support inventory planning to avoid excess stock or shortages.
- Assist in cost analysis and budget tracking for glass procurement.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and project requirements.
- Submit periodic procurement status reports to management.
- Support audits and internal reviews related to purchases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in glass procurement, facade, windows, or construction companies.
- Strong understanding of architectural glass types, processing, and standards.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Good understanding of facade systems and glass specifications
- Ability to read drawings and BOQs
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and documentation
- Good coordination and follow-up skills
- Attention to detail and cost consciousness
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹360,000.00 - ₹780,000.00 per year
