Job Summary
Suresh Press Work is seeking a highly experienced and analytical Senior Cost Engineer to lead product costing, manufacturing cost control, and profitability analysis. The role is critical in ensuring accurate cost estimation for press components, fabrication parts, and sheet metal assemblies while supporting pricing and business growth decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed product costing for press parts, sheet metal components, and assemblies
- Analyze raw material, labor, machining, and overhead costs
- Develop and maintain standard cost sheets and BOM costing
- Support RFQ preparation and pricing for new customer inquiries
- Conduct variance analysis (Material, Labor, Overheads)
- Monitor production cost vs. standard cost
- Identify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities
- Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Tool Room, and Sales teams
- Evaluate tooling cost and amortization for new projects
- Prepare monthly MIS and profitability reports
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Commerce
- 8–12 years of experience in manufacturing cost engineering (Press Shop / Sheet Metal preferred)
- Strong knowledge of BOM, routing, and standard costing
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems
- Understanding of raw material pricing (CRCA, HR sheets, etc.)
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Automotive / Auto-component industry
- Knowledge of ISO / IATF costing practices
- Exposure to lean manufacturing and cost optimization
