Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Fixture Design Engineer with a strong background in designing and developing jigs and fixtures for manufacturing applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in fixture design, manufacturing processes, GD&T, material selection, and supplier coordination, along with proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PDM systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop jigs, fixtures, and tooling solutions using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Create, maintain, and manage fixture design records, drawings, and documentation within the PDM system.
- Ensure fixture designs meet manufacturing, quality, and productivity requirements.
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes and machining operations such as VMC, HMC, and CNC Turning.
- Interpret and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards in fixture design.
- Select appropriate materials and coordinate special processes including:
- Heat Treatment
- Grinding
- Wire Cutting
- Coordinate and follow up with suppliers and vendors for fixture child-part manufacturing and timely delivery.
- Conduct DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) reviews to optimize designs.
- Support production teams during fixture assembly, trials, and implementation.
- Ensure adherence to 5S practices and maintain workplace organization on the shop floor.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, and Production for continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fixture design and development.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Experience working with PDM systems for document and design management.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Manufacturing Processes
- CNC Machining (VMC, HMC, CNC Turning)
- GD&T
- Material Selection
- Heat Treatment, Grinding, and Wire-Cut Processes
- DFM & DFA Principles
- Excellent vendor coordination and project follow-up skills.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, or precision engineering industries.
- Exposure to fixture validation, process improvement, and lean manufacturing practices.
- Knowledge of shop floor safety and 5S implementation
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
