Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers/vendors capable of providing quality materials, equipment, or services required for projects or manufacturing processes.
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate terms, contracts, and agreements, ensuring quality standards, delivery timelines, and cost-effectiveness.
- Material Planning: Collaborate with internal teams to determine material requirements, forecasting needs, and ensuring adequate inventory levels to support ongoing operations.
- Cost Control: Analyze costs, negotiate prices, and implement cost-effective measures without compromising quality or project requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure purchased products meet required quality standards, conducting inspections or quality checks as necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including purchase orders, contracts, specifications, and other relevant documentation.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks in the supply chain, create mitigation strategies, and implement contingency plans to ensure continuity of supply.
Requirements:
- Educational Background: A bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience: Prior experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, particularly in an engineering or manufacturing setting, is often preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with engineering principles, understanding of technical specifications, and the ability to comprehend complex technical requirements for purchased items.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation abilities to secure favorable terms with suppliers and vendors.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze costs, trends, and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders effectively.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in purchase orders, contracts, and specifications
