Job description :
We are looking for enthusiastic, detail-oriented Life Science graduates to join our Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team as Trainee Medical Coders. In this role, you will analyze medical records, documentation, and charts to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes in compliance with industry and payer guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze medical records, clinical notes, and physician documentation to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
Ensure strict coding compliance with official coding guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and client-specific instructions.
Assist in analyzing coding-related claim denials, identifying root causes, and supporting resolution workflows.
Maintain daily coding accuracy, quality, and productivity targets set by the operations team.
Collaborate with senior coders, auditors, and internal teams to resolve documentation ambiguities and coding queries.
Stay updated on evolving coding regulations, quarterly updates, and healthcare industry standards.
Required Qualifications :
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences or Allied Medicine (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Zoology, Nursing, B.Pharm, D.Pharm, Physiotherapy, etc.).
Certifications: AAPC (CPC, CIC) or AHIMA certification is a strong plus (Freshers pursuing certification are also encouraged to apply).
Skills:
Solid foundational knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Basic understanding of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding concepts.
Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in basic computer skills and MS Excel.
