Job Summary
A GIS Engineer at Lepton Software plays a crucial role in the production and management of geospatial data across various projects. The position encompasses tasks such as digitization, geocoding, and conducting surveys when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Geospatial Data Production: Engage in the creation and management of GIS data, including digitization and geocoding processes.
- Data Management: Collect, process, and manage spatial data to ensure accuracy and integrity across projects.
- Integration and Customization: Integrate GIS solutions with existing systems and customize applications to meet specific client requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sr.GIS Engineers, developers, analysts, and project managers, to deliver comprehensive GIS solutions.
- Responsible to meet the Project SLAs by producing the quality work within the specified timelines.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to produce precise and accurate geospatial data.
- Survey Participation (if required): Conduct field surveys as required to collect accurate geospatial information.
Required Skills and Tools
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of GIS concepts and software tools.
- GIS Software Proficiency: Expertise in GIS tools such as ArcGIS / QGIS / MapInfo / GeoServer / AutoCAD
- Adaptability: Willingness to participate in fieldwork and adapt to various project requirements.
- Should be willing to do data entry tasks & data mining related work.
- Data Capturing using satellite imagery in ARCGIS / AutoCAD / QGIS.
- Well versed with online Softwares’ like Google drive & Google sheets etc.
- Experience in using CAD tools.
- Should be willing to travel to other cities according to the project requirement.
Experience
- 3 – 5 years of experience in GIS application development and implementation.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or Diploma in Geography, Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
- Certifications: Certifications in GIS technologies or related areas are advantageous.
