Job Summary
The Assistant Professor in Radiology & Imaging Technology is responsible for delivering high-quality academic instruction, practical training, research, and student mentorship in diagnostic imaging sciences. The role involves teaching radiological procedures, imaging technologies, radiation safety practices, and emerging diagnostic techniques while ensuring students develop the knowledge and clinical competencies required by the healthcare industry.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Academic Delivery
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and clinical demonstrations in Radiology & Imaging Technology.
- Prepare lesson plans, course materials, practical manuals, assignments, and assessment tools.
- Conduct practical training in imaging modalities and diagnostic procedures.
- Evaluate student performance through examinations, practical assessments, case studies, and projects.
- Integrate modern teaching methodologies and technology-enabled learning practices.
Clinical & Laboratory Management
- Supervise laboratory and clinical training sessions.
- Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of imaging equipment used for academic purposes.
- Promote adherence to radiation protection and safety protocols.
- Coordinate clinical postings and hospital-based training programs.
Research & Publications
- Conduct research in radiology, medical imaging, and healthcare technology.
- Publish research papers in reputed journals and conferences.
- Encourage students to participate in research projects and scientific presentations.
- Apply for research grants and interdisciplinary projects.
Student Mentorship & Development
- Mentor students regarding academics, clinical training, and career opportunities.
- Guide students in internships, projects, and professional certifications.
- Organize workshops, seminars, guest lectures, and continuing education programs.
Academic Administration
- Participate in curriculum design, review, and implementation.
- Maintain academic records, laboratory records, and accreditation-related documentation.
- Contribute to NAAC, NABH, and other quality assurance initiatives.
- Support admissions, examinations, and departmental activities.
Industry & Hospital Collaboration
- Develop collaborations with hospitals, diagnostic centers, and healthcare organizations.
- Facilitate clinical training, internships, and placement opportunities.
- Organize industrial visits and expert sessions by healthcare professionals.
Qualification & ExperienceEssential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Radiology & Imaging Technology / Medical Imaging Technology.
- Master's Degree in Radiology & Imaging Technology, Medical Imaging, or relevant specialization.
- Qualification and experience as per UGC, State Government, and regulatory body norms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a relevant field (preferred).
- Clinical, teaching, or research experience in radiology and diagnostic imaging.
- Publications in reputed journals and conference proceedings.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of X-Ray, CT Scan, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, and Fluoroscopy.
- Understanding of radiation physics, radiation safety, and imaging protocols.
- Strong clinical and laboratory management skills.
- Excellent communication, teaching, and mentoring abilities.
- Research aptitude and analytical thinking.
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and academic teams.
