A PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) Mathematics cum IT Teacher in a CBSE-affiliated school holds a dual-responsibility role, combining academic instruction in higher mathematics with the integration and teaching of information technology.
Core Responsibilities
- Mathematics Instruction: Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons on advanced mathematical concepts to students.
- IT Education & Integration: Teaching computer science or IT subjects, while integrating technology into the mathematics curriculum for innovative teaching.
- Curriculum & Assessment: Creating lesson plans, worksheets, and examination papers, as well as evaluating student performance through assessments.
- Student Support: Providing remedial and extra classes to ensure all students reach their potential.
- Technological Support: Assisting with the implementation of educational technology tools in the classroom and providing support for computer-based learning.
- Key Duties and Tasks
- Academic Work: Conducting classroom teaching for mathematics (and potentially IT), marking work, and maintaining records of student progress.
- Classroom Management: Organizing class activities that encourage student participation and foster an interest in mathematics.
- Supervisory & Pastoral Care: Mentoring students, fulfilling pastoral duties, and supervising student activities.
Required Qualifications
- Academic: Post Graduate Degree in Mathematics with a 1st Division.
- IT Expertise: Qualifications in Computer Science or related IT fields.
- Teaching Certification: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
