The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for planning and conducting physical education classes, promoting fitness and healthy lifestyle habits among students, and organizing sports activities and events. The teacher should ensure students’ physical, mental, and social development through structured sports and physical activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and conduct Physical Education classes for students as per the school curriculum.
* Teach various sports, games, exercises, and fitness activities.
* Develop students’ physical fitness, coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
* Organize inter-house competitions, annual sports day, and other sports events.
* Maintain discipline and ensure safety during all physical activities.
* Identify and encourage talented students for competitions and tournaments.
* Prepare lesson plans, activity schedules, and student performance records.
* Ensure proper use and maintenance of sports equipment and playground facilities.
* Conduct warm-up, stretching, and fitness routines regularly.
* Promote health awareness, hygiene, and healthy lifestyle practices among students.
* Coordinate with teachers and school administration for school events and activities.
* Supervise students during sports practice, assemblies, and outdoor activities.
* Follow school policies, discipline standards, and child safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or Master’s Degree (M.P.Ed.).
* Relevant teaching experience in schools preferred.
* Knowledge of different sports and fitness techniques.
* Good communication and classroom management skills.
* Ability to motivate and engage students positively.
