Key Responsibilities
1. Inspection & Quality Control
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of CNC/VMC machined components.
- Inspect components according to engineering drawings, specifications, control plans, and customer requirements.
- Check critical dimensions such as diameter, length, hole position, flatness, perpendicularity, parallelism, concentricity, profile, and surface finish.
- Use measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier caliper
- Micrometer
- Height gauge
- Bore gauge
- Dial indicator
- Thread gauges
- Plug/ring gauges
- Surface roughness tester
- Contour Measuring Machine
- Verify first-off/first-piece inspection after machine setup, tool change, or process change.
- Ensure proper identification and segregation of OK, rejected, and rework components.
2. CNC/VMC Process Quality
- Monitor machining processes and identify sources of dimensional variation.
- Work closely with CNC/VMC operators, setters, and production engineers to maintain process quality.
- Verify tool offsets, tool wear, machining parameters, and fixture-related issues where required.
- Monitor process capability and dimensional trends for critical characteristics.
3. Drawing & Measurement
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Understand dimensional tolerances, geometric tolerances, datum systems, surface finish symbols, and machining requirements.
- Select appropriate measuring instruments based on tolerance and inspection requirements.
- Maintain proper calibration and traceability of measuring instruments.
4. Quality Documentation
- Prepare and maintain:
- Inspection reports
- First-piece inspection reports
- In-process inspection records
- Final inspection reports
- Rejection/rework reports
- Calibration records
- Quality check sheets
- SPC records
- Maintain proper traceability of inspected components and batches.
5. Rejection & Root Cause Analysis
- Analyze internal and customer rejections.
- Reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
- Monitor recurring quality problems and recommend permanent corrective actions.
6. Supplier & Customer Quality
- Support incoming inspection of raw materials and purchased components.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding quality issues and corrective actions.
- Assist in handling customer complaints and quality-related queries.
7. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, and process stability.
- Participate in Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement activities.
- Work with production and tooling teams to reduce machining defects.
- Help improve inspection methods and reduce inspection-related errors.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of CNC/VMC machining processes.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of dimensional inspection and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to identify common machining defects such as:
- Dimensional variation
- Burrs
- Tool marks
- Surface finish issues
- Hole position errors
- Taper
- Chatter
- Thread defects
- Profile/geometry errors
- Knowledge of 7 QC Tools.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively with production and machining teams.
Educational Qualification
I.T.I/ Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
