The Senior Manager – Engineering is a senior delivery and people leadership role responsible for multiple engineering squads and first-line people managers. This role translates engineering strategy into predictable execution while maintaining strong technical standards on a Microsoft enterprise stack.
Delivery & Execution Ownership
- Own end-to-end delivery across applications and platforms serving US and UK stakeholders
- Plan and execute sprints, releases, enhancements, and BAU work using Agile practices
- Manage dependency resolution, risks, and delivery communication
People Leadership
- Lead and coach engineering managers, tech leads, and senior engineers
- Drive performance, engagement, onboarding, and capability development
- Fosters creative problem solving and innovation
- Support succession planning and leadership readiness
Technical Oversight (Microsoft Stack)
- Provide hands-on guidance across Visual Studio, .NET (Framework/Core), C#, SQL Server, WCF, SSRS, SSIS, APIs
- Enforce engineering standards, code quality, documentation, and secure SDLC practices
- Guide modernization strategy including API evolution, Microservices architecture, cloud readiness, and technical debt reduction
- Support modernization, automation, and DevOps improvements (Azure DevOps, CI/CD)
Compliance & Operational Excellence
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA, SOC 2, and enterprise governance processes
- Partner with QA, Security, and Operations to sustain audit readiness
- Use delivery metrics to drive continuous improvement
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product, Architecture, and global business stakeholders
- Provide transparent reporting on status, risks, and outcomes
- Align with business partners regarding priority, cost-benefit, timing
Required Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on engineering experience, followed by 10+ years specifically in engineering leadership roles, including 6–8 years in engineering management positions leading other leaders and managers.
- Strong hands-on background in Microsoft enterprise technologies.
- Experience delivering in regulated or complex enterprise environments.
