About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tender Specialist to manage the complete tendering lifecycle for construction, infrastructure, precast concrete, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying opportunities, preparing techno-commercial bids, coordinating with internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with tender requirements, and maximizing bid success rates.
The role requires strong knowledge of government procurement processes, e-tendering platforms, construction contracts, and bid documentation.
Key ResponsibilitiesTender Identification & Tracking
- Monitor tender portals including GeM, CPPP, eProcurement, Railways, CPWD, PWD, NHAI, Smart City, and other government/private platforms.
- Identify relevant tender opportunities aligned with company capabilities.
- Maintain a tender pipeline and submission calendar.
Bid Preparation & Submission
- Analyze tender documents, BOQs, drawings, specifications, and eligibility criteria.
- Prepare and submit technical and commercial bids within deadlines.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, finance, legal, and project teams for bid inputs.
- Ensure all bid documents comply with tender requirements.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare prequalification documents, company credentials, technical proposals, and compliance statements.
- Maintain records of licenses, certifications, EMDs, bank guarantees, and statutory documents.
- Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and contract conditions.
Costing & Commercial Support
- Coordinate with estimation teams to obtain accurate project costing.
- Assist in pricing strategies and bid competitiveness.
- Review commercial terms, payment conditions, penalties, and risk clauses.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with clients, consultants, government departments, and procurement agencies.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
- Clarify tender queries and manage correspondence.
Contract & Award Management
- Track tender results and follow up on award decisions.
- Support contract finalization and project handover to execution teams.
- Maintain records of submitted, awarded, and unsuccessful bids.
Reporting & Analysis
- Generate reports on tender success rates, bid value, and pipeline status.
- Analyze lost bids and recommend improvements.
- Maintain a centralized tender database.
Required QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Preferred)
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or Architecture.
- MBA (Marketing/Operations), PG Diploma in Contracts Management, or Project Management certification is an added advantage.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in tendering and bid management within construction, infrastructure, EPC, precast concrete, industrial, or real estate sectors.
- Proven experience handling government and private-sector tenders.
- Experience with projects valued at ₹10 Crore+ preferred.
Required SkillsTechnical Skills
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, BOQs, specifications, and estimates.
- Knowledge of tendering portals such as GeM, CPPP, NHAI, CPWD, PWD, Railways, and State Procurement Portals.
- Familiarity with EPC, item-rate, turnkey, and design-build contracts.
- Knowledge of FIDIC and construction contract principles is preferred.
