The Factory Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our manufacturing facility. This is a leadership role requiring a mix of technical knowledge, administrative discipline, and "on-the-floor" presence. You will oversee daily operations, optimize the workforce, manage inventory, and ensure that every product meets quality standards and delivery deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Manpower Management
- Supervise daily factory activities, ensuring the facility opens, operates, and closes efficiently.
- Manage the workforce, including skilled fabricators, welders, and laborers; handle shift scheduling and attendance.
- Foster a culture of discipline and safety, ensuring all staff adhere to operational protocols and PPE usage.
2. Production & Timeline Control
- Translate sales orders into actionable production schedules.
- Monitor the production line to ensure Quantity targets are met without compromising quality.
- Track Delivery Timelines rigorously to ensure clients receive their equipment on the promised dates.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the fabrication or assembly process.
3. Inventory & Store Management
- Oversee the Store Department, ensuring accurate record-keeping of raw materials (steel, aluminum, components) and finished goods.
- Implement a "Just-in-Time" or organized stock system to prevent material shortages that could stall production.
- Conduct regular physical audits of stock and manage the procurement of consumables.
4. Quality Assurance & Facility Upkeep
- Maintain the factory premises, ensuring machinery and tools are regularly serviced and in good working condition.
- Perform final inspections on outgoing products to ensure they meet technical specifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years in industrial manufacturing or fabrication.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical fabrication, assembly lines, and industrial safety standards.
- Logistics Mastery: Proven ability to manage supply chains, from inward raw materials to outward dispatch.
- Leadership: Ability to manage a diverse workforce, resolve conflicts, and maintain high morale and productivity.
- Software Proficiency: Basic computer skills (Excel/Word) for reporting and inventory tracking.
Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-Time Delivery Rate: Percentage of orders shipped within the original timeline.
- Production Yield: Ratio of planned vs. actual units produced.
- Inventory Accuracy: Minimizing discrepancies between store records and physical stock.
- Safety Record: Maintaining a zero-accident environment.
