Job Title: Dishwasher / Utility Supervisor

Job Summary
The Dishwasher / Utility Supervisor is responsible for overseeing dishwashing and utility operations, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are maintained throughout the kitchen and food service areas. The role includes supervising utility staff, managing cleaning schedules, maintaining equipment, and supporting smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the work of dishwashers and utility staff.
- Ensure all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized properly.
- Monitor compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Assign daily cleaning duties and work schedules.
- Inspect kitchen, storage, and waste disposal areas for cleanliness.
- Train new utility employees on cleaning procedures and safety practices.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment when needed.
- Operate and monitor dishwashing equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Report maintenance issues and equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Assist with waste management, recycling, and proper disposal procedures.
- Ensure staff follow workplace safety guidelines and use protective equipment.
- Support kitchen operations during busy periods as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in dishwashing, stewarding, or utility operations.
- Previous supervisory experience is an advantage.
- Knowledge of sanitation and food safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good leadership and communication skills.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
