Job Summary
The Cafe Manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the café. This includes supervising staff, ensuring high standards of customer service, managing inventory, maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards, and driving sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the café.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise café staff.
- Ensure excellent customer service and promptly resolve customer concerns.
- Monitor food and beverage quality and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory, place orders, and minimize waste.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers.
- Handle cash, prepare daily sales reports, and reconcile transactions.
- Develop staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Monitor labor and operating costs to maximize profitability.
- Implement promotional activities and support marketing initiatives.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and operational.
- Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and feedback.
- Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or diploma in Hospitality Management is preferred.
- Proven experience in café, restaurant, or hospitality management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
