We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Wire Harness BOM Estimation Engineer to support our engineering and manufacturing operations. The role involves preparation of Bill of Materials (BOM), component selection, and estimation activities for wire harness assemblies used in high-reliability aerospace and defence applications.
Key Responsibilities
1. BOM Preparation & Estimation
- Prepare and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) for wire harness assemblies.
- Estimate material requirements and support costing activities for projects.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements for BOM
Preparation.
2. Connector & Component Selection
- Select suitable connectors, cables, and accessories based on project requirements.
- Work with D38999 Series III connectors, Micro-D connectors, backshells, contacts, and
related components.
- Ensure correct part identification and specification matching.
3. Cable Selection & Technical Coordination
- Support cable selection activities including CAT6, LCSO specifications, and other wire
harness cables.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and production teams for component
clarification and availability.
- Assist in identifying alternate parts when required.
4. Documentation & Engineering Support
- Maintain BOM records, estimation sheets, and related engineering documentation.
- Support engineering change updates and revision control activities.
- Ensure proper documentation and data accuracy for manufacturing requirements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Has good technical understanding of wire harness components and assemblies.
- Is detail-oriented and accurate in documentation and estimation work.
- Can coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Is willing to learn and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 1–2 years in Wire Harness BOM Estimation / Engineering Support.
- Knowledge of D38999 Series III connectors, Micro-D connectors, and related components.
- Knowledge of cable selection including CAT6 and LCSO specifications.
- Basic understanding of electrical drawings and wire harness assemblies.
- Good MS Excel and documentation skills.
- Qualification: Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, ECE, EEE, Mechanical, or related field.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Accuracy in BOM preparation and estimation.
- Timely completion of engineering documentation.
- Correct component and cable selection.
- Coordination support for smooth project execution.
