- Machine Operation: Set up and operate manual, hydraulic, or CNC pipe-bending machines to shape metal (steel, copper, cupro-nickel) and PVC pipes to exact specifications.
- Layout & Measurement: Read and interpret marine blueprints, ISO drawings, and schematics to measure, cut, thread, and align pipes.
- Fabrication & Fitting: Install pipe hangers, brackets, supports, and flange connections according to maritime engineering and safety standards.
- System Testing: Perform rigorous pressure and leak tests on fabricated systems (e.g., bilge, fire-fighting, hydraulic steering, and ballast lines) using specialized gauges.
- Maintenance & Repair: Dismantle, repair, or overhaul damaged piping systems and marine machinery onboard vessels.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to classification society and shipyard safety protocols, including wearing proper PPE and using correct rigging/lifting signals.
