Experience: 3–6 Years Preferred
Qualification: B.Sc / M.Sc MLT, DMLT, or relevant Life Science degree
Role Overview
The Lab Manager / Lab Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily laboratory operations, ensuring quality standards, managing staff, and maintaining smooth workflow within the diagnostic laboratory. The role involves operational supervision, compliance monitoring, and coordination with technicians, doctors, and administration teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesLaboratory Operations
- Supervise day-to-day laboratory activities and sample processing
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results
- Monitor TAT (Turn Around Time) and maintain service quality
- Coordinate with collection centers and processing teams
Team Management
- Supervise lab technicians, phlebotomists, and support staff
- Allocate duties and monitor staff performance
- Train new employees on SOPs and quality procedures
- Maintain discipline and shift scheduling
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to NABL and internal quality standards
- Monitor quality control processes and documentation
- Maintain laboratory records, registers, and audit documents
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of biomedical waste
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Monitor stock levels of reagents and consumables
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment
- Ensure proper functioning of analyzers and laboratory instruments
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare daily/monthly operational reports
- Coordinate with doctors, administration, and management teams
- Escalate critical operational or technical issues promptly
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of laboratory operations and quality standards
- Team handling and leadership skills
- Good communication and coordination abilities
- Knowledge of NABL processes and documentation
- Ability to manage workflow under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
- B.Sc / M.Sc MLT, DMLT, or equivalent qualification
- 3–6 years of experience in diagnostic laboratory operations
- Experience in handling biochemistry, hematology, and pathology sections preferred
