Job Summary
The Pharmacy Purchase Executive is responsible for procuring medicines, medical supplies, and pharmacy-related products while ensuring the right quantity, quality, price, and timely availability. The role involves vendor coordination, purchase order management, inventory monitoring, and maintaining proper procurement documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement of medicines, surgical items, medical consumables, and pharmacy supplies.
- Coordinate with approved suppliers and distributors for quotations, availability, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare and process purchase orders based on stock requirements and approved requisitions.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely replenishment to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
- Compare vendor prices and negotiate rates, discounts, credit terms, and delivery conditions.
- Verify supplier invoices, purchase orders, delivery challans, and received quantities.
- Coordinate with the pharmacy/store team for goods receipt and discrepancy resolution.
- Track pending and back-ordered items and follow up with vendors.
- Maintain supplier records, purchase reports, and procurement documentation.
- Monitor expiry-sensitive medicines and coordinate purchasing based on FEFO/FIFO practices where applicable.
- Ensure procurement follows company policies and applicable pharmacy, drug-control, and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate vendor performance regarding quality, price, service, and delivery.
- Coordinate with accounts, pharmacy, stores, and management regarding purchasing and payments.
- Prepare regular reports on purchases, vendor performance, pending orders, and procurement costs.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical products, medical consumables, and pharmacy procurement.
- Good vendor negotiation and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of inventory management and stock control.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and purchase/inventory software or ERP systems.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to analyze prices and compare supplier quotations.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
- Understanding of medicine expiry, batch, MRP, and purchase-related documentation.
Qualification
- B.Pharm / D.Pharm / B.Sc. / Any relevant degree preferred, depending on the organization's requirements.
- Experience in pharmacy, hospital procurement, pharmaceutical distribution, or medical supplies purchasing is an advantage.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
