Role Summary
The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, maintaining inventory, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting safe and effective medication management in the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense medicines as per prescriptions and doctor's orders while ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Verify dosage, drug interactions, contraindications, and expiry dates before dispensing.
- Maintain proper records of medicines, narcotic drugs, and controlled substances as per statutory requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with stores/procurement for timely replenishment.
- Ensure FEFO (First Expiry First Out) and proper storage conditions for medicines and consumables.
- Maintain inward and outward stock registers and conduct periodic stock audits.
- Handle billing and maintain pharmacy-related documentation in HIMS/software.
- Provide medication-related information and counseling to patients whenever required.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and other departments for medication availability and emergency requirements.
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards, infection control practices, and hospital policies.
- Report adverse drug reactions, medication errors, or discrepancies to the concerned authority.
- Participate in departmental quality initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of pharmaceuticals and dosage forms.
- Familiarity with HIMS/Pharmacy Management Software.
- Knowledge of inventory management and stock control.
- Understanding of NABH standards and statutory pharmacy regulations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, including night duties if required.
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Eligibility Criteria
- D.Pharm/B.Pharm from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy.
- Valid registration with the Punjab State Pharmacy Council.
- Experience with computerized pharmacy operations and inventory management will be preferred.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
