Position Title: Design Engineer. ( Back fill position )
Department: Industrial Engineering, RSC, Pune
BASIC FUNCTION
Provide Engineering Design support to business units by applying best practices in CAD Design in the domain of Generator. Managing projects individually as well as in a team environment by ensuring timeline and quality requirements from business units.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive and analyze project request through proper channel, and estimate the scope, timelines and any other specific requirements.
- Should be able to plan and come up with solutions to project requirements in discussions with the Business Units and the manager.
Product Knowledge, CAD and other software tools.
- Should be able to design and develop systems, subsystems and components of generators.
- Able to work on concept layouts along with preliminary design feasibility.
- Should have knowledge of CAD tools (Creo & Catia) required by the Business Unit.
- Should be able to do basic design calculations required during the project execution.
- Should have basic knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Should be knowledgeable about manufacturing processes of sheet metal.
- Should have basic knowledge of manufacturing engineering and Jigs & Fixtures.
- Should be knowledgeable about reverse engineering methods.
- He should be able to work with PLM (preferably Windchill) and data management systems.
- He should be able to work on ERP (preferably SAP) systems under the manager’s guidance.
In case of multiple projects on-hand, prioritize the projects with close coordination with the business unit.
- Should be able to prioritize and come up with suggestions on prioritization in discussions with the manager.
Execute/allocate the project requests by meeting the business unit requirements in respect to scope, timeline and specifics.
- Work in coordination with the reporting manager to execute and complete the project from start to end by ensuring timeline and quality.
- Should be able to provide and seek solutions to resolve technical as well as non-technical issues that may affect the project with a proactive approach.
- Keep the manager updated on all project related issues, concerns and achievements and seek his support whenever required.
- Should be able to work and execute projects efficiently.
- Provide and implement corrective actions and preventive measures regarding quality and timelines for the projects and maintain proper documentation.
- Provide value-added suggestions for design improvements and cost reductions wherever applicable.
Generate and manage daily time logs and related reports.
- Ensure project status is up to date.
- Also update project information at the appropriate database.
Ensure all set processes are followed with allowed deviation from the business units and develop as well as document new processes and design practices as per business needs.
- Should be conversant with most of the set process
- Should be able to give suggestions regarding process improvements or developing new processes for improving efficiency.
- Work closely with managers/colleagues to understand the changes and new processes that have been developed and give input whenever required.
Ensure all Rehlko core competencies are well understood and practiced.
Should be eager to learn about the latest developments in the field of technology with respect to the job requirements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- BE / MTech Mechanical Degree qualification or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in the field for product design, preferably generators.
- Working experience on Creo must.
- Working experience on Sheetmetal and welded structure design.
- Able to communicate effectively both within team and cross functions.
- Having global working experience is preferred.

- Ensuring timely resolution of NPD tasks for the New Product Development (NPD) team on a priority basis, which directly supports product quality, customer commitments, and engineering responsiveness.
- Supporting both AMER and EMEA teams for New Product Development tasks, enabling smooth coordination across global regions and ensuring business deliverables are achieved without delays.
Contributing toward planned associates’ billing utilization targets of- 1670 hours, which is critical from both operational efficiency and revenue realization perspectives.
