The Academic Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth implementation of the school's academic programs by leading teachers, monitoring curriculum delivery, maintaining academic quality, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The Coordinator will support innovative teaching practices, mentor teachers, and ensure that classroom instruction aligns with the school's vision and international best practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership
- Lead and supervise the academic functioning of the assigned section (Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle, or Senior School).
- Ensure effective implementation of the curriculum and academic calendar.
- Monitor lesson planning, classroom instruction, and student engagement.
- Maintain high standards of teaching and learning across all subjects.
Teacher Supervision & Mentoring
- Observe classroom teaching and provide constructive feedback.
- Mentor and coach teachers to improve instructional practices.
- Conduct regular academic meetings and professional development sessions.
- Support new teachers through induction and continuous guidance.
Curriculum Implementation
- Ensure curriculum objectives are achieved effectively.
- Promote inquiry-based, experiential, and skill-based learning practices.
- Encourage integration of technology and innovative teaching methodologies.
- Monitor completion of syllabus and academic documentation.
Assessment & Quality Assurance
- Oversee assessment planning, examination schedules, and evaluation processes.
- Review student performance data and recommend improvement strategies.
- Ensure consistency in assessment standards and reporting.
Student Development
- Monitor students' academic progress and overall development.
- Address academic concerns and support intervention plans for struggling learners.
- Promote participation in competitions, exhibitions, assemblies, and co-curricular activities.
Parent & Stakeholder Communication
- Conduct Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Address academic queries and concerns of parents.
- Build strong partnerships between school and families.
Administration & Documentation
- Prepare academic reports, timetables, and meeting minutes.
- Maintain academic records and ensure compliance with school policies.
- Coordinate school events, examinations, and academic initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in the relevant subject.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Minimum 5–8 years of teaching experience with 2–3 years in an academic leadership or coordinator role.
Preferred Profile
- Experience in CBSE, Cambridge, IB, or other international curriculum schools.
- Knowledge of Project-Based Learning (PBL), experiential learning, and NEP 2020.
- Experience in teacher mentoring, classroom observations, and academic planning.
