Job Purpose:
The VFX Faculty will be responsible for delivering high-quality, industry-relevant training to students enrolled in advanced VFX and filmmaking career programs. The ideal candidate must bridge the gap between classroom learning and studio pipelines, making complex technical concepts easily understandable for students ranging from complete beginners to advanced learners.
Key Responsibilities:1. Training Delivery & Classroom Management
- Conduct practical, engaging lectures and hands-on lab sessions on core VFX software pipelines.
- Break down complex architectural and technical software concepts into simple, structured modules for students.
- Maintain an approachable, supportive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and clear doubts.
- Manage and monitor students' daily lab practice hours, ensuring optimal utilization of the center's infrastructure.
2. Mentorship & Portfolio Development
- Provide detailed, constructive, and personalized feedback during regular student project reviews.
- Guide students step-by-step through showreel and portfolio creation, ensuring their work aligns with current global studio standards.
- Nurture both the technical software handling and the core artistic thinking/creativity of each student.
3. Center Support & Student Engagement
- Assist in evaluating student performance, conducting periodic assessments, and tracking batch progress.
- Participate in internal center events, masterclasses, and student workshops to boost center engagement.
- Support the placement team by identifying industry-ready talent within your batches.
Technical Skills & Software Requirements:
Candidates should have strong expertise in a combination of the following industry-standard software and production techniques:
- Compositing & Rotoscopy: Foundry Nuke (Essential), Adobe After Effects, Silhouette.
- 3D Assets & Dynamics: Autodesk Maya (Dynamics/FX), SideFX Houdini
- Matchmoving & Tracking: 3DEqualizer or PFTrack.
- Core Concepts: Matte Painting, Chroma Keying (Green/Blue screen), Camera Projection, Color Grading, and Live-Action Footage Integration.
Key Competencies & Soft Skills:
- Student-Centric Approach: Patient, approachable, and possessing a genuine interest in mentoring beginner-level students.
- Strong Communication: Ability to explain complex production workflows in a simple, clear, and confident manner (English and Hindi).
- Industry Awareness: Kept up to date with the latest VFX trends, studio workflows, and global cinematic techniques.
