Job Summary
A Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and managing construction and infrastructure projects such as buildings, roads, bridges, water supply systems, and other public works. The role involves ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and oversee construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Supervise construction sites and coordinate with contractors, architects, and other professionals.
- Review and approve technical documents and project reports.
- Monitor project progress and resolve design or construction issues.
- Perform risk assessments and ensure quality control standards are maintained.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred, depending on location).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, ETABS, or similar.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
