Job Summary
Playgro Toys India Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Fabrication Manager to oversee and manage all fabrication activities at its Ujjain manufacturing facility. The role involves planning, supervising, and controlling fabrication operations to support production, maintenance, infrastructure development, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Fabrication Management
- Plan and execute daily fabrication activities as per production and maintenance requirements.
- Ensure timely completion of fabrication jobs and engineering projects.
- Monitor productivity, manpower utilization, and machine efficiency.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams.
Fabrication Operations
- Supervise and manage:
- MS Cutting
- Arc Welding
- MIG Welding
- TIG Welding
- Gas Cutting
- Pipe Bending
- Drilling
- Grinding
- Sheet Metal Fabrication
- Structural Fabrication
- Ensure proper operation and upkeep of fabrication equipment and tools.
Engineering & Technical Support
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication layouts.
- Estimate material requirements and fabrication timelines.
- Support machine installation, modifications, and plant improvement projects.
- Develop and fabricate fixtures, trolleys, racks, platforms, and utility structures.
Quality Management
- Ensure fabricated items meet quality and dimensional specifications.
- Reduce rework, rejection, and material wastage.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
Team Leadership
- Lead welders, fitters, fabricators, and helpers.
- Allocate manpower effectively to meet targets.
- Conduct training on fabrication techniques, safety, and quality standards.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in the fabrication area.
- Promote safe work practices and PPE compliance.
Cost & Process Improvement
- Control fabrication costs and material consumption.
- Drive productivity improvement and waste reduction initiatives.
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs.
Qualification
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
