# Job Title: Freight Broker
## Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Freight Broker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing freight, building strong relationships with shippers and carriers, negotiating competitive freight rates, and ensuring the timely and efficient movement of shipments. The Freight Broker will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service while maximizing profitability.
## Key Responsibilities
* Source and secure new freight opportunities from shippers and customers.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and clients.
* Negotiate freight rates and transportation contracts.
* Match available freight with qualified carriers to ensure efficient delivery.
* Coordinate shipments from pickup to delivery and monitor shipment progress.
* Resolve shipment delays, service issues, and customer concerns promptly.
* Maintain accurate records of loads, rates, invoices, and carrier information.
* Track market trends, lane pricing, and carrier availability.
* Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
* Meet or exceed monthly sales and performance targets.
## Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).
* Previous experience in freight brokerage, logistics, transportation, or sales is preferred.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
* Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
## Preferred Skills
* Experience using load boards such as DAT, Truckstop, or similar platforms.
* Strong sales and customer service skills.
* Ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships.
* Knowledge of the North American freight market is an advantage.
