The Nuclear Medicine Typist is responsible for transcribing, formatting, and finalizing highly specialized medical imaging and diagnostic reports. This role involves handling complex medical documentation related to PET-CT scans, thyroid uptakes, bone scans, myocardial perfusion imaging, and radionuclide therapies. The primary focus is ensuring exceptional accuracy of nuclear medicine terminology, findings, and patient data under tight timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurate Medical Transcription: Transcribe recorded dictations from Nuclear Medicine physicians into structured, error-free diagnostic reports.
- Terminology Verification: Verify complex anatomical, pharmacological, and radiopharmaceutical terms (e.g., Technetium-99m, FDG-avid, tracer uptake, dosimetry).
- Report Formatting: Input and format test results, physiological measurements, and scan findings into the hospital's Radiology Information System (RIS) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) database.
- Quality Control: Proofread reports for punctuation, grammar, and clarity while maintaining the exact clinical meaning intended by the physician.
- Data Retrieval: Coordinate with technologists to double-check patient demographics, scan dates, and dose administrations against the typed file to eliminate discrepancies.
- Confidentiality & Compliance: Handle all patient records in strict compliance with healthcare data privacy laws
- Required Skills and Qualifications
- Typing Speed: High proficiency with a minimum typing speed of 40 to 60 words per minute (WPM) with near-perfect accuracy.
- Medical Terminology: Deep understanding of general medical terminology, with a preferred focus on radiology, oncology, and nuclear medicine.
- Listening Skills: Excellent auditory acuity to interpret fast-paced or heavily accented physician dictations accurately.
- Software Literacy: Familiarity with dictation systems, transcription foot pedals, and medical database programs (RIS/PACS/EHR).
- Education: High school diploma required; a Certification in Medical Transcription (CMT) or a Diploma in Healthcare Administration is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 6 months to 1 years of experience typing in a diagnostic centre
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
