About the Role
BeSpoke AI Stylist is looking for a Backend Development Intern to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for students and recent graduates who are passionate about building scalable applications, APIs, databases, and backend systems that power real-world products.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining backend services and APIs
- Work with databases to store, retrieve, and manage application data
- Integrate third-party APIs and services
- Debug, test, and optimize backend applications
- Collaborate with frontend developers and designers to support product features
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
- Participate in code reviews and development discussions
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of programming concepts and data structures
- Familiarity with at least one backend language such as Python, Node.js, Java, or PHP
- Understanding of REST APIs and client-server architecture
- Basic knowledge of SQL and database concepts
- Familiarity with Git and version control
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python (Django/FastAPI/Flask) or Node.js (Express.js)
- Knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar databases
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, and API security
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Personal projects, GitHub contributions, or internship experience
