Job Requirements
We are looking for a creative and driven Handbag Designer to join our Bags & Accessories design team at DEC. This role is ideal for a designer with a strong eye for trends, storytelling, and innovation, who can translate concepts into commercially successful handbag and backpack collections.
What you’ll do:
- Drive trend research and build seasonal design & CMF stories aligned with brand direction
- Design handbags and backpacks across categories, translating stories into cohesive seasonal collections
- Create innovative, differentiated designs with a strong focus on brand design language.
- Own end‑to‑end design development including detailed tech pack creation
- Work closely with NPD, sourcing, vendors, and manufacturing teams to ensure design intent is executed accurately
- Apply a strong understanding of materials, trims, construction techniques, and manufacturability
- Integrate sustainability and cost‑effective thinking into design decisions
- Support sampling, reviews, iterations, and final design sign‑offs within timelines
What we’re looking for:
- 3–5 years of experience in handbag, backpack, or accessories design
- Strong capability in trend analysis, design ideation, and storytelling
- Experience designing seasonal collections with commercial viability
- Good knowledge of materials, trims, bag construction, and production processes
- Strong collaboration skills; a dependable team player who takes ownership
- Attention to detail, accountability, and commitment to timelines
Work Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in handbag / accessories design
- Strong trend research and seasonal story-building capability
- Experience in designing seasonal collections and design diffrentiated edits.
- Proficiency in tech pack development
- Strong understanding of materials, trims, and handbag construction
- Good team player and needs to be efficient in stakeholder collaboration.
